Why not reduce your race weekend stress by camping on site the night before and after the race! We are excited to partner with Mendip Activity Centre to provide convenient camping spots at their beautiful Basecamp area so you can relax, enjoy the atmosphere, and wake up few minutes walk from Race HQ where registration takes place and from the start/finish area.
Booking
Bring Your Own tent or motorhome to camp at Basecamp, the main hub for the Butcombe Trail Ultra. No hookups are available.
Choose from a one or two night stay.
Prices for 2026 are to be confirmed.

The camping area is located at Basecamp, the main hub for the Butcombe Trail Ultra.
You can find details of how to reach Basecamp on this site map. A marshal will be waiting to meet you at the camp entrance.
Free parking is available for all campers. You’ll be directed to the designated parking area upon arrival.
Dates
Friday: Check-in opens at 3:00 p.m.
Saturday: Activities begin! Race starts and supporters can use their 10% discount to enjoy activities at the Mendip Activity Centre (all activities should be open, water sports will be subject to weather conditions).
Sunday: Check-out by 12:00 p.m.
Food & Drink
The Alpine Lounge at the Mendip Activity Centre offers food, drinks and a bar. Expected opening hours are as follows, please double check on the Mendip Activity Centre website. NOTE last orders for hot food orders 1 hour before closing.
Friday: 9am – 8:30pm
Saturday and Sunday: 9am – 6pm
And of course there will be a post-race meal pre-booked for all runners on Saturday as part of the race entry fee. This will be served from the Basecamp Pavillion along with drinks and snacks during Saturday afternoon and evening.
There are also several local pubs within 5-10 minutes drive.

Quiet Hours: Please respect quiet hours from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
Driving After Dark: Normally for everyone’s safety we do not allow vehicles to be moved after dark. By exception if you arrive very early or leave late on Saturday please drive quietly and carefully to/from the designated parking area.
Waste: Dispose of all waste in designated bins or recycling stations.
Campfires: Fires are only permitted in designated fire pits.
Pets: Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead.
